In Cahoots
In Cahoots is a small project that reflects the numerous talents of Footscray-based artist Christine Jumpertz. Drawing inspiration both from nature and the imagination, Christine started "In Cahoots" in 2002, making Australian animal and fairytale puppets and kids' dressups from a spare room at her home in Melbourne. She received an encouraging reaction from the public at a couple of markets and before long her house was being overtaken by an ever expanding cast of characters.
Most are made of felt, and she has also started making her own felt from Australian wool. Handmade cards, many also featuring felt and wool are new items available. Christine values the creative process in all its forms from conception to production.
All the designs are unique, designed and handmade by Christine.
She was commissioned to create two character puppets for a cabaret show "Miss Josephine's Misdemeanours", which was performed at The Butterfly Club in Melbourne in April, 2003, and at the Melbourne Fringe Festival, October 2003.
